Our Story
Our journey began with two ordinary educators with ordinary problems but with extraordinary dreams… We have long been aware that language learners always struggled with speaking.
The main problem was not about academic skills, grammar, vocabulary, etc. it was always about speaking. That is; not being able to engage in authentic conversations in real language environments.
Our academic endeavors taught us these; but we were helpless in providing our students with such an environment as they always felt they were in an official classroom setting. Even if they tried to speak to their friends, it was always an artificial experience.
Obviously, the internet is a great place for them to meet others and practice; however, two fundamental problems were there to stop them: firstly, apps that are specifically designed for speaking practice are not affordable or functional. Secondly, most speakers are often stuck during a conversation due to lack of meaningful content.
The idea was simple: bring people together and give them things to talk about! Adding some elements to make speaking practice fun, authentic, sociable and affordable; we came up with the idea of creating CommuneNow. Luckily, our paths crossed with a visionary team of software developers who shared the same dreams and ideals. Now we present to you the brainchild of this unique match, which we hope will contribute to your journey of mastering your speaking skills.
